ABOUT WILDCATS FUTSAL

Throughout the last 13 years of Wildcats Futsal we would like to recognise 2 of our staff members that have been with us from day one. Our founder, coach and president Jim Cairney as well as one of our coaches and vice president John Dixon.  Without these two gentlemen Wildcats Futsal would not have had the chance to take our players as individuals and as a team to the next level, as well as being invited to so many more amazing opportunities that we unfortunately could not attend.

 

Starting in the 2011-2012 season with our first competition being Craig Foster Challenge Cup, now known as Coomera Gold Coast International. Taking 3 teams: U/13, U/15 and U/15 girls, and finishing second in the U/13 division. Over the last 13 years we have been in every Coomera Gold Coast International tournament, taken up to 13 teams in one year. As well as now competing in Johnny Warren.

In December 2014 we formed a partnership with Brisbane Magic Futsal Club, Gold Coast City Futsal, FNC NSW Futsal and Arana Utd Futsal Club, becoming founding members of the new Queensland based F-League team, Galaxy Futsal. This gave us the opening for players to compete in a FIFA recognised national futsal premier league. Galaxy FC enter their first F-League season with two Bundy Boys named in their 18-man squad, Sam Meyer & Dylan-James Cairney.

In the 2015-2016 season we took the once in a lifetime opportunity to take our U/15 team over to Barcelona to compete in the World Cup Challenge claiming 5th place on the world stage. While these boys were competing, we had the opportunity to take our U/8’s to Melbourne to compete in the Futsal Oz Club Nationals.

Our players and coaching staff have had the chance to represent Southern Queensland at the FAA Futsal Nationals, with our biggest year having 8 coaching staff and 33 Wildcats players.
